With the start of the new production in June 2017, the previous recipe was changed. Gone is the previous addition of Sugarcolour. According to Herrenhäuser brewery, a very old recipe has been revived. The original wort was used up to the limit for draft beer with 10.7%. This now gives an alcohol content of 3.9%. The new / old recipe now also contains wheat for the otherwise usually exclusively used barley. This results in a nice beer color naturally cloudy (unfiltered), dark with a soft red shimmer. Aroma hops from the Hallertau region were used. The Herry Lüttje Lage beer is quite mild with a bitter value of 15 IBU.

Of course we tested the new beer. The first impression: it has become darker. It tastes slightly of banana, which is typical for wheat. Maybe with a slightly smoky finish. If you like, you can try it without schnapps.
